Update

Here I am in my bed.

My surgery went well, and doped-up me is very peaceful about it.

This is a new place. A new beginning. This is watching what happens when you pause and wonder. My kids and I have been reading The Wheel on the School by Meindert DeJong, and in the beginning of the story, a teacher in a one-room school house, isolated from the world, teaching a handful of kids, shoves aside the apathy of obscurity long enough to challenge his students to wonder. They do wonder, and from it comes story and community.

I wonder: who am I?

And while I do, what will happen?

Will I listen to a story? Will I tell a story?

For right now, I will take a nap.
