Advent Incarnate
I have been working on a little project for the Missional Wisdom Foundation. It is a multitiered program called Advent Incarnate. It begins with the weekly Wisdom for the Way newsletter that is produced by the Missional Wisdom Foundation and involves incarnational theology, me talking to my husband about theology on FaceBook Live, a curated collection resources that one could sink into then synthesize into a project that I will give you feedback on (exciting...I know), and four liturgies that speak to Advent and incarnation.
All of that information is here. You should sign up for all of the things over there.
Ok, Advent Incarnate is great (you should sign up), but the thing I have been waiting to tell you, that I am so excited about, that I have butterflies just typing about is...
Into the Abundant Deep: a Credulous Journey of Faith
My book is coming out spring 2018!!
Ok. This might seem like a non sequitur, but Advent Incarnate blossomed out of the third chapter of Into the Abundant Deep—which is my chapter on incarnational theology, so it makes sense.
What is this book about? I know you are thinking that because that is the first thing that everyone asks me. And, the answer is...
Theology.
Wait...it gets better. It is a theological, metaphorical thought experiment framed by TRADITION which tries to get to tradition. You know. The richness and beauty behind, beneath, beyond the traditions that frame twenty-first century, American Christianity.
I know. It's for real interesting.
So, since this whole project came out of this book and the audacity to write a book came from my blog readers, I want to celebrate Advent by gifting you the third chapter of my book.
All you have to do is subscribe to my email list at the bottom of the page. If you have already subscribed and want the third chapter of my book (because everyone knows the third chapter is the crux of a book...I made that up...unless it's true—then I knew that because I know everything), please comment on this post and I will send it to you.
Yeah. I know. I'm excited too.
